Local Folk Found is a music programme that teaches young people traditional folk songs and prepares them for performance.
Local history can be taught in many ways and folk song/tunes can be a really interesting conduit in discovering the old ways of working and all the differing aspects of community life in the past. Song and music can engage children actively in learning about the history of where they live. All regions have songs connected to local industry in some shape or form and this is what we would bring to the workshops.
A percussionist with over 800 instruments.
Sam Pirt is an accordionist that has been brought up with folk music, song & dance.
Both Gary and Sam together form Folk/World duo The Hut People.

“When it comes to working with children, some people have it, some people don’t – Gary and Sam most certainly have it”
