On Friday 24th October, Firebird hosted a team-buildling day for musicians working on Artscope's TEN project.

Using Lincoln City's very own gamelan, facilitator and Javanese music specialist, John Pawson, led a fascinating day giving the team a unique environment and welcome opportunity to experiment with different ways of working together.

ten_team_2.jpgArtscope is a community arts organisation based in Lincoln that runs creative arts projects throughout the city.

TEN, funded by Youth Music, is a fantastic new initiative by Artscope giving children in the Monk's Abbey ward of the city an opportunity to work with professional musicians working across a wide variety of world musics. The term "TEN" refers to the large number of ethnic minority groups that live and work in the local community. Parents of the young people taking part are able to be actively involved in working on and shaping the project.

Firebird is working in partnership with Artscope to provide continuing professional development for the project's musicians.

Musicians and other participants:

John Pawson (facilitator)
