ARTWORKS - Opportunities for Artists and Mentors

We are currently recruiting suitably qualified freelance workers to help deliver our exciting new project in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire.

ARTWORKS is a combined programme of arts activties and one-to-one mentoring designed to help unemployed and economically inactive people raise their aspirations and confidence levels so that they are better able to take up job opportunities and training. The project is 24 months in length.

We are looking for:

ARTISTS - all artforms

Artists should have at least 3 years experience in the field of community and participatory arts and/or experience running workshops in school settings. Experience of working with challenging and hard-to-reach groups and/or individuals is an advantage.

Artist will be expected to work in teams with groups of 12-15 participants.


MENTORS

Mentors should have at least 3 years experience in working as a mentor or as a professional in a related field (e.g. counselling, coaching etc.) and have appropriate professional qualifications.

Mentors will work with project beneficiaries on a one-to-one basis. Each beneficiary will receive a minimum of three 1-hour sessions that benchmark needs, review progress and signpost individuals onto mainstream provision whether in the form of training or job opportunities.


Both ARTISTS and MENTORS will be expected to work alongside Firebird's other project personnel and help contribute to the project's evaluation and monitoring programme.

  • Your daily or hourly rate
  • Your full contact details including email and daytime telephone/mobile number
  • Names and contact details for 2 referees who can comment on your work
  • Any relevant professional qualifications
  • Confirmation of at least three years experience in working in the role and the relevant sector
  • A short paragraph outlining your current activities and brief descriptions of similar projects you have worked on over the past 12 months.
