Musician and song writer, Sally Goldsmith, has recently completed a pilot songmaking project for Firebird focussed around six villages in the southern end of the Derbyshire Dales - Doveridge, Sudbury, Marston Montgomery, Longford, Brailsford (see picture below) and Hulland Ward.

Working with everyone in these local communities from toddlers and their mums, teens in youth clubs, adults with learning disabilties, through to senior citizens, she made new songs which reflect local peoples' own personal connections with the places in which they live.

Funding for this project has come from Derbyshire County Council in partnership with Derbyshire Dales District Council.
