In the Summer of 2007, Firebird was privileged to work with Hawk Henries, a native musician from the Nipmuc people of North America and the London Mozart Players.
The centrepiece of his work with us was a new piece composed by Hawk for traditional Nipmuc flute and accompanied by the strings of the London Mozart Players in an arrangement by Adam Saunders. The work was premiered at venues in Louth, Alford and Skegness and linked to a programme of education and outreach work in the Lincolnshire district of East Lindsey. The project was funded by Arts Council England's Grant for the Arts scheme, East Lindsey District Council, Orchestras Live and the London Mozart Players.
