Firebird projects undertaken:

Rikki has had a long relationship with Firebird Trust having run many successful projects including; Motiv8 – A singing and song writing project with two other artists, Gary Hammond and David Stickman Higgins. The project was run in a number of schools in Chesterfield to encourage boys to sing.  Issues of masculinity and ‘what is it to be a man?’ were explored through song and lyrics, culminating in a performances and a professional audio recording of the compositions. Pebbles in Ponds – A series of projects executed with Rikki and David Stickman Higgins in Derbyshire villages to encourage music making and creativity in the community. Songphony – A musical oral history project executed by Rikki and David Stickman Higgins, that journeyed into the past and present of the village of Brailsford. The project worked with village elders to record and film their personal stories and those of the village.  This was then used to create songs and other short films.
